Ingredients

  • 150 g 5.3 oz high-quality dark chocolate
  • 80 g ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 60 ml ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt: Optional… but magical. Enhances flavor instantly.

Method

  1. Melt the Chocolate (Gently = Perfect Texture). You can melt your chocolate using either a microwave or a double boiler. Both work beautifully if done with care. Microwave Method (Fast & Easy): Place the chopped dark chocolate into a heatproof bowl. Heat for 20–30 seconds at a time. Stir between each interval until completely smooth. Pro tip: If you see small unmelted pieces, don’t panic — keep stirring. Residual heat will finish the job. Double Boiler Method (Classic & Safe): Place a saucepan with 1 inch of water over low heat. Set your heatproof bowl over it (make sure the bottom doesn’t touch the water). Let the steam gently melt the chocolate, stirring occasionally. Avoid overheating. Burnt chocolate = heartbreak.
  2. Add the Butter for a Creamy Base. Once the chocolate is melted and still warm (not hot), add the softened unsalted butter. Stir slowly with a silicone spatula or whisk. The mixture should start turning glossy and thick — that’s your truffle base forming. If it looks slightly separated: keep stirring. It will come together beautifully.
  3. Warm the Cream and Blend Everything. Heat the heavy cream separately until warm — not boiling. Then: Pour the warm cream into your chocolate-butter mixture. Stir in smooth, circular motions until fully combined. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. You’ll see the texture shift into a velvety, spoon-licking consistency that screams “luxury chocolate spread.”
  4. Let It Cool (This Step Matters!). Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for 5–10 minutes. This helps it thicken into a spreadable consistency without becoming too firm.
  5. Chill for a Perfect Truffle-Like Texture. Transfer your mixture into a jar or airtight container, then refrigerate for 20–30 minutes. This quick chill gives your Chocolate Truffle Butter its signature: smooth body rich flavor truffle-inspired firmness No long waiting time. No complicated steps. Just pure chocolate magic.
